For Immediate Release
Auxiliary Members Elect Officers for 2010-2012 Term
At the Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held in December, members of the Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center Auxiliary elected officers for the 2010-2012 term. The new president is Peter L. Molnar, local business owner, community activist and long term auxiliary member. The other officers are 1st Vice President Tami Conine, 2nd Vice President Kathie Herbst, Secretary Connie Jeffers, and Treasurer Pat Tucker. All of the new officers have been members and supporters of the auxiliary for many years and have served previously as officers or have volunteered for Auxiliary committees or projects.
Mr. Molnar told the members at the luncheon that the new officers and the Auxiliary Board of Directors had agreed on three primary goals: update the Auxiliary’s existing by-laws; formalize a working budget; and raise community awareness of the many ways the Auxiliary supports the hospital and the people of the Catskill Region. “These are important goals because they strengthen the membership’s decision-making and operational foundations. The Auxiliary has grown far beyond being a small group of well intentioned, hard working supporters of the hospital and residential care facility. We are now a solid partner with the hospital providing additional and substantial financial resources.”
In his opening remarks to the members Mr. Molnar said, “It’s a great time to be part of our Auxiliary. We had many successes under Mrs. Adam’s direction including expanding our Thrift Shop and raising the funds to help the hospital purchase a new four wheel drive ambulance.” He continued, “Renovations are underway to expand and increase efficiency of the hospital’s emergency department. The Auxiliary has the opportunity to assist the administration in meeting their objectives for state of the art equipment and services.”
Sue Adams, as outgoing president, presided over the Annual Meeting and Luncheon. She summarized the Auxiliary’s achievements during her tenure and thanked the many volunteers for their hard work and dedication. She said, “I am proud and honored to be part of such a great group of people. This is not an ordinary Auxiliary. When we put our minds to something, it gets done. Look at how far we have come since our inception.”
In a letter that was read at the luncheon, Ed Morache, CEO of the hospital, expressed his appreciation for the commitment shown by Mrs. Adams. He said that she is an “inspiration” and that she “has a natural capacity for leadership.” He also thanked the volunteers and told the new officers he was “looking forward to continuing to collaborate with them and the auxiliary.”
The Auxiliary is part of Margaretville Hospital, a non-sectarian, not-for-profit 501c3 organization. It was formed in 1966 to promote and advance the welfare of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Facility through activities approved by the Hospital Board of Directors. The Auxiliary meets the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the Margaretville Residential Care Facility.
